Israeli intelligence sources reveal the use of an AI-powered database called Lavender in the Gaza war, identifying a whopping 37,000 potential Hamas targets and raising serious legal and moral concerns about AI's role in modern warfare.

Superstar Artists Demand AI Developers Respect Their Rights

Over 200 artists, including Billie Eilish, Nicki Minaj, and Stevie Wonder, have joined the Artist Rights Alliance to demand AI developers, tech companies, and digital music services stop using AI to infringe upon and devalue the rights of human artists.

The artists are calling for a pledge to refrain from using AI music-generation technology that undermines or replaces human artistry.

Apple researchers have developed ReALM, an AI system that can understand ambiguous references to on-screen entities, conversational context, and background information.

This breakthrough outperforms existing methods, including GPT-4, and could enable more natural interactions with voice assistants, enhancing the hands-free experience for users.

Uber Eats customers in the Phoenix metropolitan area can now receive orders delivered by Waymo's self-driving cars, marking the official launch of Uber's delivery partnership with the Alphabet-owned company.

The service is currently limited to select merchants in Phoenix, Chandler, Mesa, and Tempe, with plans to expand to more restaurants and service areas in the coming weeks.

A stunning survey reveals that 41% of managers aim to replace employees with cheaper AI tools in 2024, backing up previous predictions of significant job losses due to generative AI.

The report also found that 48% of managers believe their businesses would benefit financially from replacing workers with AI, and 45% view AI as an opportunity to lower salaries.

The survey highlights the growing concerns among both employees and managers about the impact of AI on job security and wages.
