Google’s Gemma 3n Brings Multimodal AI to Mobile Devices

Google has released Gemma 3n, a new family of open-source AI models (2B and 4B parameters) built for mobile and edge devices. Despite their size, the models handle images, audio, video, and text natively, and can run on devices with just 2GB of RAM.

Gemma powers real-time video analysis at 60 fps on Pixel phones and supports speech-to-text in 35 languages. Its larger version, E4B, is the first sub-10B model to break a 1300 score on LMArena. This launch signals a leap toward smarter, on-device AI for everyday users.
