OpenAI is converting its business arm into a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC), moving away from its controversial for-profit plans. The original nonprofit will remain the primary shareholder and retain governance control—a shift influenced by civic pressure and legal battles, including one with Elon Musk.
CEO Sam Altman said the new structure still allows OpenAI to raise “trillions” for its AGI ambitions while staying aligned with its founding mission. The pivot echoes models used by Anthropic and Patagonia, but leaves questions about investor confidence and long-term sustainability.

Over 250 tech leaders, including CEOs from Microsoft, Adobe, Uber, and Zoom, have signed an open letter calling for AI and computer science to become mandatory high school graduation requirements across U.S. states. The move aims to keep the U.S. globally competitive and ensure students are prepared as future AI creators.
The letter cites research showing a single CS course can boost early career wages by 8%, regardless of college attendance. It follows a recent executive order from President Trump to expand K-12 AI instruction, reinforcing the push to make AI literacy as essential as math or reading in modern education.

FutureHouse, backed by Eric Schmidt, has launched four specialized AI agents—Crow, Falcon, Owl, and Phoenix—designed to streamline scientific discovery by tackling the overwhelming volume of research papers and data. These agents are now available via web and API, each handling tasks from general research to chemistry-specific workflows.
FutureHouse claims the agents outperform PhDs and traditional search tools in literature search and synthesis, offering transparent reasoning and access to specialized databases. With few competitors offering ready-to-use tools, FutureHouse positions itself at the forefront of the AI-driven science revolution.

Apple is reportedly partnering with Anthropic to build a new AI-powered "vibe-coding" platform for Xcode, using Claude Sonnet to automate code writing, editing, and testing. The tool will feature a conversational interface and is set to roll out internally before public release.
This marks a rare move for Apple, which typically relies on in-house AI. Following recent AI setbacks, the company is also exploring partnerships with Google’s Gemini and OpenAI, signaling a broader strategy shift to stay competitive in the AI race.

U.S. stock-index futures rose Tuesday night after reports that top U.S. officials will meet with China's lead economic representative in Switzerland this week, renewing hopes for de-escalation in the ongoing trade war. The S&P 500 futures gained 0.8% following the news, providing relief after two straight down days in the markets.
Earlier, stocks tumbled amid tariff concerns, weak corporate guidance, and political drama, including Canadian PM Mark Carney rejecting U.S. annexation rumors. Gold surged to a record high, Treasury yields dipped after strong demand for 10-year notes, and companies like Mattel and Ford warned of major tariff impacts. Investors now await signals from the Fed and the outcome of Thursday’s high-stakes talks.
