  • ChatGPT May Soon Replace Excel and PowerPoint

Google DeepMind's Gemini has earned a gold-medal score at the 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad, solving 5 out of 6 problems and scoring 35 out of 42 points using only natural language. The test followed the same rules and time limits as human competitors.

Unlike OpenAI’s similar claim, Gemini’s answers were officially graded by IMO coordinators. This milestone shows AI is quickly catching up to top human mathematical reasoning. The next challenge is creativity beyond what humans have solved.

Alibaba’s Qwen team has released an upgraded Qwen3 model that outperforms Kimi K2 and rivals top closed-source models like Claude Opus 4 and GPT-4o. The non-thinking version uses 22B active parameters, a 256K context window, and is fully open-source.

By decoupling instruction and reasoning training, Qwen3 delivers major gains and is now the free default on Qwen Chat. The release cements China’s rising influence in AI through bold, open-source innovation, even amid Western chip restrictions.

OpenAI has launched ChatGPT Agent, a powerful upgrade that lets the AI operate its own virtual computer to complete complex, real-world tasks like shopping, booking travel, coding, and creating presentations.

The unified system blends browsing, coding, and document creation while connecting to tools like Gmail and GitHub. With top benchmark scores and strict safety protocols, Agent marks a major leap toward fully autonomous AI assistants.

US stock futures climbed as President Trump unveiled a new trade agreement with Japan, calling it “perhaps the largest Deal ever made,” featuring a 15% tariff on Japanese imports.

The Dow, S&P 500, and Nasdaq futures all rose slightly ahead of key earnings from Tesla and Alphabet. Wall Street remains watchful as tariff tensions persist, impacting companies like GM and spurring more international trade moves.
