AI Sales Agents, 3D Printing of Human Organs, & the Humanoid Race Continues In Today's Issue
Your favorite AI chatbot is ready to go to college!
Arizona State University becomes the first among others to integrate ChatGPT into its teaching and research projects.
This move is likely to prepare students to embrace AI as it becomes more prevalent in the world around them… too little too late?
More on this in a bit; here are the top stories for this week.
ASU Embraces ChatGPT in Education
Salesforce Debuts AI Sales Agents for 24/7 Support
AI Boosts 3D Printing of Lifelike Human Organs

Simulation Theory might not be just a theory anymore
Arizona State University (ASU) is integrating OpenAI’s ChatGPT into over 200 projects across teaching, research, and operations. Using the secure ChatGPT Edu version, ASU launched an ‘AI Innovation Challenge,’ with faculty and staff eager to apply AI in education. Key initiatives include an AI writing assistant, a chatbot named 'Sam' for med students, and AI-supported research recruitment.
This bold move has inspired institutions like Oxford and Wharton to explore similar collaborations. While some schools resist AI, ASU is leading the way, using ChatGPT to personalize learning and prepare students for an AI-driven future.

Salesforce has introduced two AI-powered sales agents—Einstein SDR Agent and Einstein Sales Coach Agent—to boost sales efficiency. Einstein SDR Agent engages leads 24/7, answers questions, and books meetings, while Einstein Sales Coach Agent helps sales reps perfect pitches and provides real-time call feedback. Both leverage Salesforce’s CRM and external data for smart, context-aware responses. Set for general release in October, these agents promise to streamline sales tasks and drive growth.
By automating repetitive sales tasks, Salesforce’s AI agents enable teams to focus on high-value work, potentially closing more deals and accelerating business growth.

Researchers at Washington State University have developed an AI technique, Bayesian Optimization, that significantly enhances the speed and efficiency of 3D printing realistic human organs.
The AI optimizes geometric precision, density, and printing time, producing increasingly accurate models. In trials, it printed 60 refined versions of kidney and prostate models, using fewer materials and less time. Beyond medicine, the technology has the potential to lower manufacturing costs across industries like automotive, aviation, and electronics.

At the 2024 World Robot Conference in Beijing, Chinese tech firms flexed their muscles by showcasing 27 humanoid robots, all vying to outshine Tesla's Optimus—the only foreign competitor at the event. AGIBOT, founded by a former Huawei exec, revealed robots powered by large language models (LLMs) for industrial and customer service roles. Other standout innovations included Astribot’s S1 robot, skilled in calligraphy and music, and Galbot’s wheeled robots for food delivery.
While China's robot parade highlights its ambition to lead in humanoid robotics, experts caution that high costs and tech challenges remain obstacles. However, with such a diverse lineup of humanoid robots, China is signaling it won’t be left behind in the race to bring commercially viable robots to market. The future of humanoid robotics might be closer than we think!

GameNGen is a groundbreaking neural model game engine that can simulate the classic game DOOM in real-time. Developed by Google Research, it achieves high-quality interactive gameplay at over 20 frames per second on a single TPU.
The model is trained in two phases: first, an RL-agent learns to play the game, generating training data; then, a diffusion model is trained to predict the next frame based on past frames and actions. With its impressive performance and innovative approach, GameNGen represents a significant advancement in AI-powered game simulation.
This is absolutely insane. A model is generating this game, in real-time, as the user plays.
Map the progress/trajectory of most other AI modalities onto this, and in a few years, we’ll have AAA-quality games being generated in real time.
