Google’s New Chatbot
OpenAI has announced a new web search feature for its ChatGPT Plus chatbot, powered exclusively by Bing. Available on iOS and Android, this browsing feature supports queries on current events and information beyond the bot's original training data. However, the Bing-only search capability, a result of OpenAI's partnership with Microsoft, has raised concerns due to past criticisms of Bing's search results.
Microsoft is enriching its Bing search engine and Bing AI chatbot in Edge with several AI-assisted shopping tools. The capabilities include automatic generation of buying guides, review summaries, and a Price Match feature to request matched prices from retailers. While some see the potential for disrupting existing buying guide sites, Microsoft's innovations aim to provide more utility to its users.
